Digging Rig

Constructed by The Company on Charon, the Digging Rig appears to be a large, possibly automated drilling system similar in design to Earth-based tunnel boring machines. When shown on camera, the structure was not in operation.

In the rock around the rig there are various rooms. The rig itself has a

Drill deck. Presumably there would be some sort of spin put on the structure to allow the drill heads to circulate over the bottom of the pit.

In the rock around the rig there are various rooms. On the top of the rig there are Some landing platforms. These platforms have a road that leads outside of the digging complex. The only person in the area is the Vapengineer.

Upper deck, with hydrocarbon venting ports to deal with safely burning uncaptured gasses from the drilling process.

The rig did not appear to be in operation in the video, or had finished its work and was no longer being used, given that the catwalks and the rig itself appear to have been anchored to the crater rim.
