Morph finishes up his initial evaluation of the shaft, filing its results away to review later. He constructs a modified version of a survival pod (later given the moniker "The ROPE", though Tius voices concerns over whether the design will actually work.
After walking the other Survivors through his design briefly, they take off for bottom of the shaft and arrive much quicker and more out of control than expected, as the design appears to lose its stabilization shortly after departure. Though the Survivors escape unharmed, the ROPE is a complete write-off, forcing the crew to split up and search for another way back up.

Lower level of the ROPE
Morph's travels take him down one of the rail tunnels. He reaches another similar vertical shaft, called BMESA station 24, but the maintenance ladder up is similarly blocked by cave-in after a short distance. He travels down to the same general level that Captain Shack is exploring and finds a backup power generator that he switches on, which powers most of the lights in his area. On his way back to the rendezvous point, he is nearly run over by the captain on a re-purposed (and neutered) drone.

The ROPE, after its initial crash.
The two head further down the hall after hearing w4sted speaking over some sort of loudspeaker, eventually finding him in a rail cargo transfer facility. The facility itself is blocked from further exploration, but the crew manage to gain access to maintenance tunnels and set off in a small personnel transport vehicle to see if they can find another way out.
