J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just Another Re-hash of a Very Intelligent System) is an Artificial Intelligence created by Commander w4sted as part of his education at the Federation College 'Cadet Training Program'.
The 'programming module' of the course, which the Commander has stated he hated, required the creation of an Artificial Intelligence as a test and J.A.R.V.I.S. was the result.
His functions are mostly unknown but he has been seen to both display and manipulate stored designs, and has mentioned being integrated with the workshop systems but is isolated from the rest of the base.
His creation date is unknown but based on statements from the series must be at least 15 years previously.
J.A.R.V.I.S. is the only voice acted role in the series currently outside of the 3 main protagonists and is likely a reference to his namesake from the Iron Man series.
