Space Engineers Group Survival Wikia

Mentioned briefly by Commander W4sted while talking to Doctor Morphologis in the Federation's moon base in episode "Memories" of the second season of group survival around minute 13:00. W4sted puts Morphologis in a hostile situation involving facing a "Reclaimer" and stating that he would "panic, run for cover, leave those you care about behind.". Through this speech we deduce that Reclaimers are outer space, hostile creatures. In CaptainShack's prequel episode the pirate captain Valefor describes to Shack what Reclaimers are.

Some aliens that devour refined metals from the ships, he also says that the Federation doesn't believe in the existence of them and thinks they are another space-tale. Reclaimers tear through ship hulls easily, but it is unknown how effective they are against shields. They find ships by tracking their signal produced by the ship engines. They have a a hard exterior armor which protects them from enemy weapons, it is unknown if they evolved into this or are the remnants of another race as no one has ever captured a Reclaimer in a decent state.

The Reclaimer "fleet" is known to have different sized ships, the small metal eating Reclaimer vessels and a "Scythe", a much larger ship of Reclaimer design but with an extremely tough armor that can only be pierced by a huge amount of firepower. In the episode a heavily armored fighter rammed against it at full speed is needed only to disable the ship temporarily.

Apart from this nothing more is known about Reclaimers.

The Prequel[]

During the Prequel episode the Reclaimers attack the Federation Destroyer Resolute under Shack's temporary command. The Reclaimer fleet which included a Scythe is destroyed by the Resolute and Valfor's fighter. Their appearance in the sector may also imply they are the cause of the disappearance of some ships in the same area.

Notes[]

While the statement about the Reclaimers being nearly unknown to the Federation was true during the Prequel episode, other statements in the series seems to imply that Reclaimers are a better understood not uncommon threat at the time of the Duality Drive Experiment.
