Commander w4sted's escape pod, presumably damaged during the Duality Drive jump, plummets towards the surface of an unknown planet, subjecting its rider to enough g-force that he reds out and loses consciousness. The pod impacts the ground with tremendous force, damaging his suit and causing internal injuries.
The commander begins recording the first of a series of audio logs, detailing his suspicions about who was behind the Constitution's death as he meanders about aimlessly on the surface. After finding a portion of the Constitution's hull from near the engineering area, he reluctantly begins to salvage the remains to build an outpost to bunker up in.
His first project is a wheeled vehicle based on a glide racer he had seen on Earth, aiming for a simple, easy to construct rover that could be constructed with the parts he has on hand. Meanwhile, his injuries continue to cause him no shortage of pain and sensations of something being in his peripheral vision. This sensation would gradually escalate over the first 48 hours after landing to include symptoms of paranoia.
Faced with the need to get critical components off of inaccessible portions of the hull, he is forced to build scaffolding to get to them. Working non-stop, he succeeds in dismantling most of the ship wreckage to create the bare bones of his outpost (complete with a camera), by the end of day 3 is still faced with the engineering challenge of transporting two batteries intact to maintain their full charge.
Medical Assessment[]
Through this and other upcoming episodes, it is clear that the commander is suffering from some sort of medical malady, a possibility reinforced by the damaged nature of his suit based on the audio quality of the logs. It should be noted though that a concussion's symptoms included headache, lack of coordination, and memory loss, generally results in the victim being sleepy or fatigued, which w4sted clearly does not feel even after working nearly 72 hours straight... nor does it explain odd visions. Similarly, a brain aneurysm would explain a headache, but would also include nausea, stiff neck, and sensitivity to light.
